WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!!
Well, it's a girl! We had a sonogram this morning and the tech noticed two things... the baby had long feet (like her father!) and that there were no boy parts! I initally thought it would be a girl but over the past month I had been convinced it was a boy. For the past two weeks, Scott has been saying boy, boy, boy! I think we are still in shock, but definitely excited! Now it is time to start thinking of girls names...we will start a poll soon so we can get everyone's feedback.
Thanks for keeping up with us and we hope everyone enjoys the holidays!

19 weeks and starting to show...
Everyone can thank my sister Cassidy for requesting a picture of the baby bump... I did not plan on posting any just yet. It's a little hard to see in the picture but trust me, it's there! Right now I am very thankful for the "Tummy Sleeve" that allows me to leave my normal pants unbuttoned and zipped if need be and it holds them up! I am trying to find some maternity pants that fit but haven't had much luck yet.
That's all for now... we'll be back December 1 to tell you if we'll be doing the nursery in pink or blue!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Babies, Babies, Babies!
Well, spring just got a little more exciting! My older sister Amber and her husband Ryan are expecting their first child in late May! They are about 6 weeks or so behind Scott and I. With the holidays quickly approaching, time is going to fly by for us. Once we make it through Thanksgiving and Christmas we will look forward to Scott's sister Sharon and her husband Grant having their first child in January... then on to February when Scott's baseball season starts... and before we know it, Baby Malone will arrive in April... then shortly after that Baby Norton will join us in May! Whew, then all the fun will really begin!
It will be great for our son or daughter to have two cousins the same age to grow up with! And, he or she will have cousins Coy, Taber, Katlin and Kade to look up to.
And my parents thought they were done with Amber and I doing things in the same year (we both got married in 2007, about 6 months apart)! Now they have two cribs to buy, and two more grandchilren to spoil!

16 week check up
Not much to report today. I had my 16 week check up today (really I am only about 15 1/2 weeks) and everything was good. We listened to the heartbeat and it was as strong as ever! The doctor said it was okay for me to color my hair (woo hoo!) and for me to fly over the holidays. I can't believe it but my weight is still not where it should be. I have not gained back the 8 pounds I lost thanks to that lovely morning sickness. I am close but the doc said to keep eating! I'm not sure how much more I can eat - I have been eating everything from mac and cheese to french fries to cake and ice cream! It's nuts, Scott makes fun of me because I can eat the whole box of kraft macaroni and cheese! You'd think that alone would add the weight. Oh well, it'll come!
For those who have been following my LONG job search, it has finally come to an end. I start a new, full time job on Monday. I will be doing marketing at American Bank in Corpus Christi. It is a locally owned bank and is said to be one of the best companies to work for. It will be a transition from the flexibility of college athletics but I am excited to get back to work. And, for those who are wondering, yes, I am planning to continue to work when the baby is born.
I almost forgot the most important note - we will find out the sex of Baby Malone on December 1. We were hoping to get the news before Thanksgiving but no such luck, so we'll have to wait just a few more days.
Happy Halloween!

Ready for Baseball!!!
Thanks to Grandma Suzanne and Grandpa Andy, our little one is ready for baseball season! Since Baby Malone is due right in the middle of the season you can be sure he or she will see the field shortly after birth! And, with the Islanders hosting the conference tournament in Corpus Christi just a month after my due date we had to make sure everyone would know that Baby Malone would be rooting for daddy's team to win it all!

I see hands and feet!
our second ultrasound was thursday, and again baby malone was being stubborn. moved just enough for the tech to get some pics for the early downs screening but then decided he or she was tired.
here are some other pictures - if you look closely you can see a hand in one and a foot in another.
enjoy...

First Ultrasound
most of you have already received this via email but for those who haven't... read on...
well at 11 weeks 5 days, we had our first ultrasound yesterday! finally! everything's great. the baby's heartbeat was good and it was moving around like crazy for a while. we have a pic of it waving at us. you could see the hands and even the fingers!
the doc was trying to take some pics for an early screening for downs but the baby decided it was done moving around. we tried pushing on my belly and coughing but no go - it was done moving. now scott thinks it's a girl b/c it was being stubborn like me. anyhow, i have to go back next week for another ultrasound so they can try to get the right pics. i don't mind - i get to see the baby again! looks like after that my next ultrasound will be around thanksgiving - that's when we'll find out the sex. i think it'll be a girl too - only b/c i don't have a girls name pinned down. who knows - as long as it's healthy.
that's all really. my doc was worried about my thyroid but my levels came back normal so that's good. he'll test it again in 4-8 weeks. and, i haven't gained any weight!! i'm actually down 7-10 pounds! but my belly is starting to pooch a little i think (maybe it's just in my head). doc isnt' worried about the weight though - he said if i haven't gained any by my next appt (10/31) then he'll tell me to have a shake a day - i think i can do that!!
there's your update on baby malone. hopefully i'll be posting the ultrasound pics later!
